The financial costs a family may inherit as a result of caring for a terminally ill mother, and then closing the chapters of her life, may impact her daughter's ability to pursue post-secondary opportunities. To off-set a small amount of the financial burden, Harriett’s Daughters will award educational scholarships to young women interested in going to college.

To be eligible for a Harriett's Daughters Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen

  • Be a young woman in her senior of high school

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.00 scale

  • Have a mother who is terminally ill with cancer, or a mother who has passed away from cancer

In addition to the general eligibility requirements, applicants will be asked to provide the following:

  • Two letters of recommendation (both letters must be written on official letterhead stationery)

  • An essay/personal statement (TBA)

  • Official academic transcript

We understand that figuring out how to pay for post-secondary education can be overwhelming.

Scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 school year will be available in the winter. If you are interested in donating to our scholarship fund, please click on the donate button below.
